A look at some school shootings in the United States in the last decade.
Oct. 10, 2007: Asa Coon, 14, fatally shoots himself and injures two teachers and two students at SuccessTech Academy, in Cleveland, Ohio.
April 16, 2007: CHO SEUNG-HUI (left), a 23-year-old Virginia Tech senior, kills 33, including himself, and injures another 30 at Virginia Tech University, Blacksburg, Va. The Virginia Tech shooting was characterized as the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history.
Jan. 3, 2007: Samnang Kok, 17, was fatally shot in the face at Foss High School, Tacoma, Wash.
Oct. 2, 2006: Charles Roberts IV kills five girls and wounds five others at an Amish school in Nickel Mines, Pa., before turning the gun on himself.
Sept. 27, 2006: A lone gunman took students hostage at Platte Canyon High School in Bailey, Colo., killing a 16-year-old girl before killing himself.
Nov. 8, 2005: A 14-year-old boy fatally shoots an assistant principle and wounds two other administrators at Campbell County Comprehensive High School in Jacksboro, Tenn.
March 21, 2005: Jeff Weise, 16, fatally shoots 10 people in a school shooting on the Red Lake Band of Chippewa reservation in Red Lake, Minn.
April 24, 2003: John Jason McLaughlin guns down two Rocori High School students in Cold Springs, Minn.
Jan. 16, 2002: Graduate student Peter Odighizuwa, 42, kills the dean, a professor and a student at Appalachian School of Law and wounds three others before being tackled by other students.
March 5, 2001: Charles “Andy” Williams, 15, kills two students and injures 13 others at Santana High School in Santee, Calif.
May 26, 2000: Nathaniel Brazill, 13, kills his English teacher at his middle school in Lake Worth, Fla., after the teacher wouldn’t let him talk with two girls in his classroom.
April 20, 1999: ERIC HARRIS, 18, and DYLAN KLEBOLD, 17, (right) kill 12 students and a teacher and wound 23 others before killing themselves in Columbine High School in Littleton, Colo.
May 21, 1998: Two teenagers were killed and more than 20 injured when 17-year-old gunmen Kip Kinkel opened fire in Springfield, Ore.
May 19, 1998: Jacob Davis, 18, kills a student who was dating his ex-girlfriend in Fayetteville, Tenn.
March 24, 1998: Two boys, ages 11 and 13, hide in the woods near their middle school in Jonesboro, Ark., shooting and killing four girls and a teacher and wounding 10 others.
